LaborNet Consortium

The Moving Industry’s First Centralized Labor Platform

For years the moving industry has been looking for a consolidated and centralized source for casual labor and a universal background check which can be accepted by all carriers and van lines. The LaborNet Consortium has accomplished exactly that. Our platform allows laborers and their crews to create a profile and obtain a background check through the mobile app.

Why The Industry Consortium Model Works…

One of the biggest barriers in hiring background checked and certified labor is not knowing what the other companies or van lines are screening for in their background check matrix. LaborNet Consortium has created a universal background check which is accepted by independent movers and the major van lines. The laborer who clears the LaborNet Consortium background check will be able to work for all participating companies and van lines.  The predicament of a laborer having cleared a check for some companies but not others is eliminated and a thing of the past.

The concept of competitors helping one another seems difficult, but remember that this is a problem that faces the whole industry and needs the industry as a whole to come up with a solution.  The moving industry is not the first to do this – there have been successes in the petrochemical and mortgage industries where centralizing a pool of contractors that everyone hires is now being used at a 100% rate.

New Partnership with Hidrent

The LaborNet Consortium has formed a new partnership with Hidrent, a platform that helps connect firefighters who are interested in working during their off duty hours with hiring parties.  This integration introduces over 6,600 firefighters nationwide, which grows every day, for movers to hire as they need extra help.

The LaborNet platform has created a seamless process to allow office personnel to submit job requests to Hidrent from their computer and drivers to hire through the mobile app.  Simply click the Hire Through Hidrent button and enter the shipment information, number of firefighters you are looking to hire, credit card information, and submit to Hidrent.  Once they secure firefighters for your job you will be notified directly.

This substantial increase in available labor comes at no increased cost to our current pricing as we are continuing to grow labor resources to our customers.

Annual Subscription Pricing

LaborNet will be responsible for the cost of all background checks which means there will be no additional cost to the moving company above the annual subscription.  That’s right, you can point as many laborers to this network with no additional cost to your company.

Starting at $900 annually, there are no additional charges for the number of drivers or office users you would like to have.  This allows for as many users as needed to access the LaborNet Consortium at no additional expense.

The LaborNet Consortium Background Check Matrix

Currently Allied Van Lines, Atlas Van Lines, Mayflower Transit, New World Van Lines, North American Van Lines, United Van Lines, and independent moving companies accept the LaborNet Consortium background check matrix. A number of independent moving companies are making progress towards participating in this program as well.

The LaborNet background check matrix was created to meet the requirements of van lines across the industry, which means the LaborNet Consortium background check is the first universally accepted CID number. Moving companies pay an annual subscription to join the consortium which includes the cost for all casual background checks your company runs as well as access to the platform for all drivers and office staff.

WHO CAN BE A LABORER?

There are many terms that are used throughout the household goods moving industry for someone who helps a driver load or unload their truck: helper, lumper, mover, packer, laborer, and the list goes on. If you are able to help move boxes and furniture and put in a good day’s work then you are in the right place. Work ethic and customer service goes a long way in making sure you get as much work as you can handle.

Due to the cyclical nature of the moving industry with the summer being peak season, the number of moves needing laborers are at it’s highest. This provides individuals looking for work during the summer time a great opportunity to find just that. Teachers, Firefighters, EMT’s, college students, and more can take advantage of this opportunity to make extra money at their convenience.

WHY DOWNLOAD LABORNET?

For those who are new to the industry, LaborNet provides a great opportunity to find as much or as little work that fits into your schedule. Drivers and moving companies will be able to contact you when they will be in the area, and you will be able to search moves that have been posted in your area.

If you are an experienced laborer then you know that during the summer, everyone needs help as this is when the majority of moves happen. LaborNet will allow you to manage your jobs more efficiently by communicating directly with drivers and moving companies, as well as provide more jobs to apply to over the slow season.

MILITARY MEMBERS

One of the largest struggles for Drivers and Moving companies comes when they are trying to access military bases for a move.  There are strict guidelines that must be met for someone outside of the military to gain access to the base to provide any service, however it is not secret that this can cause delays to those services.  One possible solution to this process is to allow military members to make extra money while providing a valuable efficiency to the moving process.  Many people are unaware of both the struggle for the moving industry and the easy opportunity to make extra money if they choose to do so.  LaborNet offers the connection between these parties that can be a great benefit to all LaborNet users.
